Channel Update | We Got a New Van!
A little update video explaining what's going on with the channel, why we haven't been uploading as often, and....WE GOT A VAN! Can't wait to do the camper conversion on it. Having said that, it's going to take up all of the little spare time I have, so videos might be far and few between going forward, at least until the camper conversion is done.

We've been going to The Highlands for a few years now, but in the last year or so, they've really changed things up. In this video, we explore some of the new trails and features while also riding some of the OG trails as well. We're really stoked about all the new stuff and we can't wait to see what else they come up with it in the coming years. ► The Bike Park: www.trailforks.com/region/highl...

@@slipNJloc No. *_Highland Mountain_* Bike Park is in New Hampshire. This is *_The Highlands_* Bike Park in Harbor Springs, Michigan.
All drops are Scary 😂 she has some big nuts.💪🏻
Long Live the Queen of MTB 🌸💕❤ Thanks for all you do!!
Those transitions always throw me for a loop…. 😂
Nice one, After 2 years of perfect brakes since I installed them, the rear failed and after 3 or 4 attempts I finally drilled a hole in my syringe and kapow, back to beast mode 😅
Nice 👍
I wanna learn to do this during the summer, before school starts. I can already lift the front wheel pretty high, my problem is that sometimes my handlebars go sideways while I lift it and I almost crash. I'm sure I'll get it eventually tho, but which do you think is easier, a bunny hop or a wheelie?
Bunny hop is easier. I can bunny hop, but I can't wheelie for sh*t. Tips: Don't "pull." You actually have to push your body away from the bars explosively and lean back immediately so that bar comes back with you, kinda like how you would do a pushup aggressively enough to get airborne, but while holding a bar and keeping your arms straight after pushing off. As soon as the front wheel starts coming off the ground, you use the bar to pull yourself forward and upright to stand tall like a meerkat. This is when the front wheel ends up going even higher. Do this explosively enough, and the rear wheel will come off the ground as well, at which point you scoop up with your pedals to get the rear over the obstacle as well. Your rear will only go as high as you can get the front up. So practice doing the first part up to the "meerkat" position explosively, and the rest will follow. Since Blue Mountain is too lame to have DH mountain biking these days, they should take down all vids that say otherwise!!
I tried all the examples from the youtube, many times all over again and again. I see no bubless and still its like sponge. Magura sucks.
Try refilling from scratch while keeping the caliper vertical. Then, do the vacuum bleed. Sometimes, an air bubble gets stuck in the caliper, causing the lever to pull all the way to the bar without engaging the pistons. Filling from the bottom up with the caliper vertical fixes it unless you have a faulty set.
@@dukeofmtb Well, to late. Today i change it with SLX. Its by far an amazing improvement
@@42pac That's unfortunate. Although I'm glad you found something that works now. 👍
Now that’s something you don’t see everyday. 🔥
Yeah boey!!!
Come try the ride again but use the shuttle this time! Mountain Top Shuttles opened up last year. A lower section of Heartbreak opened up this year. It’s a different beast now, and you won’t be too pooped to enjoy it!
Sweet! Thanks for the info. 👍
Any idea how many ml to fill entire brake line?
No clue. I just fill the syringe and push it through from the caliper end until the fluid comes up in the syringe on the lever end. You wanna flush out all the old fluid anyway if you're refilling the whole line, so a little extra isn't gonna hurt.
That’s sick
glad this is my local spot
That was one of the best angles for the unicorn mount I've seen. The stitch line was right on the horizon the whole time and none of your face, body or helmet was distorted, like is often the case. Well done!
Thanks!
Keep building the dream you guys 👊🏼. The hardtail crew hopes to see you guys out on the trails again someday.
Thanks, man! Just taking it slow and steady. I get burnt out a lot easier these days. 😅 See ya around and say hi to the rest of the hardtail crew for me. 🤘😁
This week I’m planning to ride the where is the spot that you recommend to parking?
It's been so long, I don't even remember. All I know is the trails ended at the lot we parked at, so I'd give trailforks.com a good look when you're looking to park.
Thanks for the suggestions
Saw you guys up at Thunder Sat, stoked to see the edit. The glimpse we caught of the van interior looked pretty sweet!
Thanks! 😊
Looks super fun!
I bought a bleed kit for my bike, it was an absolute nightmare to do and the instructions didn't make any sense, the whole thing wound me up and made me angry. I took 5 minutes to chill out and watched your video, I then did it again following your instructions and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
I feel ya man. I went through the same nightmare until I found out about the vacuum thing. Glad I could help. ✌️
@@dukeofmtb Prior to your excellent video I had slimey hands, stuff everywhere and mineral oil on the ceiling. It was a dark time.
@@TwistededgemediaSounds about right. Lol
I wasn’t a fan, jumps are way too lippy other than the first. The new jumps at Melvin are much better. It’s a new trail system about 20 min east of boyne highlands
We'll check those Melvin jumps out sometime. 👍
nice trick
I’m gonna have to watch this video 10 more times because I can’t see any of the microscopic parts that you’re working on. I wish MTB’s were as easy to work on as cars
Thanks for posting this, you're legend ! So you confirm it's possible to mount HC3 levers on MT5 ? It seems not in the HC3 description but I don't know why. Thanks
I've done it on a couple sets of MT5s. It works, but there's more lever throw than you'd get on a set of MT7s. I eventually upgraded to MT7s with hc3 levers. It's just not the same feel-wise on the MT5s.
@@dukeofmtb Thanks for your reply, it's exactly what I wanted to know ! Cheers
I had my front brake caliper disconnected for a number of days. When I reconnected it the handle bar is stiff and does not have any give and the pistons don't move. What is the recommended action to remedy this issue?
First thing I'd try is to refill the brakes from scratch. Also double check that there isn't anything clogging it up where you disconnected it before. Best of luck. 👍
Make another visit to Mountain Creek bike park in New Jersey.
It worked ! fantastic, thank you so much for posting this 👍👍
fucking rad!
she needs cornering advice. her body positioning in not right. separate the bike from your body and turn it over, drop your inside arm and straighten it out. almost like your scooping the corner out with your lugs
she is stiff as a board god damn. any faster and that probably would have been pretty dangerous
She knows and has known for a long time. She's been working on it. She just doesn't have a good mind/body connection and struggles correcting things like this. She can't whistle, can't dance, can't snap her fingers, can't projectile spit, can't even cough up phlegm to save her life. We have long suspected she has undiagnosed dyspraxia/ developmental coordination disorder. I've been with her for 17 years, so trust me when I say it's not from a lack of practice or patient coaching. I think she's doing alright considering her disability.
Only problem is, when you want to have a matt finish, this is guaranteed glossy. Haven't found anything for protection that is a matt finish. Maybe someone has an idea?
RideWrap makes a matte finish wrap. It's excellent.
Not sure that dinky little drop needs a sign but whatever
Lol. The drop itself isn't necessarily massive, but the landing is steep(you can't tell through the camera footage), and you can easily fly off that berm if you come in too hot on a muddy day. ✌️😉
Got any advice on pad rub? Or pad not retracting enough?
its always the feature after the feature
Lol. Yup. 😅
where is this?
Killington.
I live in Houghton, so next time you guys come up to the Keweenaw, you have a place to stay if needed. I haven’t seen you do videos on the Tech Trails here, but I am sure you would enjoy the Jump Line.
Thank fuck for this video. Installed them today and just cant get the air out, magura’s step by step is very long and tedious, this is way easier.
Glad it helped, man. 👍
This is right down the road from my house. shits way way too tame. kinda lame tbh
ngl this drop was pretty intimidating the first time hitting it, even if you can technically roll it.
This looks amazing, too bad it's closed down
I'm still hoping they'll open the bike park back up again one day. 🙂
Where is this?
Windrock in Tenessee.
💪
Obnoxious AF
Love your videos. Just recently found your channel. Cory keeps me laughing. Finding new places I want to ride just from watching your videos. Look forward to new vids when you have time!
Yeah, we'll hopefully get back to making regular vids later this year. Glad you're enjoying our older content though. 😁👍
nice to have unlimited money eh.... lol
Lol. Nah, just different priorities. 😉
any recommendations on a decent full suspension bike? The prices Im looking at I could get a really good motorcycle! It's crazy how expensive bikes have gotten and what a wide range of prices exist.
Keep in mind that you're comparing top of the line, race ready mountain bikes, vs. regular motorcycles. Take a look at competition level motorcycles, and the price comparison makes more sense. Take a look at Pinkbike.com's buy/sell. You could get a pretty decent bike for 2.5k(give or take 500). My first full suspensiom bike was a used aluminum Trek Remedy 8 that I got for about that price. If you find something interesting in your price range, look up some review videos and go from there. Best of luck. 👍
Thank you for being real! You guys are awesome and don’t stress. Just keep riding and having fun!
Is this jumpline at The Highlands of Harbor Springs bike park in Boyne?
No, but it's close. You can stop by here if you're heading out to(or coming back from) The Highlands..
